Our Story

Maldon's Little Gem

Le Sel  Maldon’s Petite French Deli, aims to bring the wonderful tastes of France’s delicious selection of food.

 

Our fresh and selected ingredients allow us to create specialized French style dishes ranging from a variety of French cheeses to a range of salamis and other options. 

 

The owners hail from France as well, they’re always up for a chat and willing to help find the perfect selection for a light snack, a lovely aperitif with family and friends or even platters for a group to take home for dinner.

Cheese

With its unique cheese selection, Le Sel offers a wide range of cheeses mainly from France.

 

From triple cream to hard cheese. There selection is constantly updated according to seasonal availability they are always on the lookout for that one special cheese you have been looking for

Charcuterie

Delicious meats from local and domestic producers. Beyond the traditional Prosciutto, saucissons, terrines, pates from La Parisienne, sausages and beautiful lightly smoked ham from Salt Kitchen

 

Le Sel also makes its own Pate and Terrine, all these products are often used in their baguette sandwich.

 

If you feel more adventurous, you can explore new culinary horizons with other European classics such as blood sausage ( Boudin Noir) or the slightly challenging french delicacy, Andouillette (pork stomach sausage)

Peddling Pastry of Castlemaine is committed to peddling pastries, cakes, nougat, biscuits and chocolates with passion and a commitment to using only the finest ingredients and local seasonal produce to create quality products consistently. Products are naturally artificial flavours and preservatives free.

We are using fresh ingredient for our baguettes they are made daily example of fillings (smoked salmon, roast beef, eggplant, goat cheese, etc.) Large selection of cheese mainly from France. Selection of pate, terrine, saucisson, including our house made pork and chicken terrine.

 

We cook our  almond croissants, pain au chocolat, plain croissants daily

Saturday Night

le sel bistro

We have successfully created, in Maldon, a French-style Bistro Night.

 

On the last Saturday of every month we create   “Notre Table”, a special evening aimed to bring people together for a table dinner. 

 

The dinner is prepared by our head chef and is carefully themed for the night.

 

We create a truly provencial experience, simple but delicious seasonal dishes, using local produce.
